An Invista employee was injured Friday morning after coming into contact with process material at the plant.
The employee, whose name was not released by the company, was transported to Citizens Medical Center, said Victoria Fire Department Battalion Chief Shannon Martin.
The employee was treated and released, Invista spokeswoman Amy Hodges wrote in an email Friday.
"The employee is expected to make a full recovery," Hodges said. "We take any incident at our site very seriously. The safety of our employees, contractors and the communities in which we operate is our first priority."
The incident occurred about 7 a.m. during a routine procedure, Hodges said. An Occupational Safety and Health Administration report of the incident was not available Friday evening, U.S. Department of Labor spokesman Juan J. Rodriguez said.
