Generals break three-game losing streak with 6-3 victory

After a three-game losing streak, the Victoria Generals turned it around in the second game against the Acadiana Cane Cutters with a 6-3 final score.

The Generals scored twice in the top of the third after both teams went scoreless in the first two innings.

David Paiz Jr. hit an RBI single that brought in Matthew Burks. Justin Pacchioli scored the second run on an opponent's error.

The Generals scored another two runs in the fifth inning with RBIs by Tanner Hill and Cedric Vallieres.

An RBI by Pacchioli brought home Keith Funk, and Paiz brought home Burks on a fly ball.

The score was 6-0 until the Cane Cutters scored once in the bottom of the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.

Armando Arevalo pitched seven innings, allowing two hits and striking out three batters. Miles Holcomb and Jeff Chesnut each pitched one inning.

Pacchioli went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a double. Paiz went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.

The Generals play the Woodlands Strykers on Thursday at 7:05 p.m.
