Already beefing up its roster for next spring, the UHV softball team has signed another junior college transfer.

Haley Sewalson, who spent a year at Iowa Central Community College before transferring to Dakota County Technical College in Minnesota last year, will be a new utility player for the Jaguars.

The Elgin native plays the outfield and also pitched while at DCTC. Last year, the Blue Knights won 21 games at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II level, according to a release.

Last season, Sewalson compiled a .398 batting average with 36 runs and 17 RBI. She hit 12 doubles, two home runs and a triple.

Sewalson pitched three full games, compiling a 7.00 ERA in 224 innings, the release said.
