Counties north of Goliad are under a flash flood warning

A flash flooding warning for southwest DeWitt County, including Yorktown and eastern Karnes County is in effect until 10:15 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of creeks, streams, county roads and farmland along the creeks and streams, according to the warning. It is recommended that drivers avoid areas where water covers the roadway, as the water may be too deep to allow cars to cross safely.
Wednesday brings a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high of 88. Southeast wind up to 15 mph, with possible gusts up to 40 mph with associated thunderstorms.
There's a 40 percent chance of showers Wednesday night dropping to 20 percent after midnight with a low of 78. Southeast winds of 15 mph.
