Homes in north Victoria experienced power outages Monday afternoon.

About 900 American Electric Power customers lost power about 3:10 p.m., said AEP spokesman Elgin Janssen. Power was restored to AEP customers at 4:10 p.m.

"The outage was caused by a tree whose limb fell off and got caught by our power lines," Janssen said.

Another outage happened in the Tonto Circle neighborhood off North Main Street.

Seventeen homes lost power at 3:15 p.m. after a city of Victoria garbage truck struck a low-hanging cable line that brought down two utility poles operated by the Victoria Electric Cooperative, said VEC spokeswoman Nina Campos.

Power was completely restored to all outages by 8:48 p.m. Monday.
