The mail from two drop boxes outside the Edna Post Office in the 600 block of W. Rose Street was reported missing Sunday morning.

The locks were cut from the drop boxes located in the drive-thru, said Edna Chief of Police Clinton Wooldridge.

The theft would have occurred between 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Wooldridge said.

"All of the mail was stolen," Wooldridge said. "The theft is most likely connected to identity theft. People who left mail in those drop boxes between those time periods should monitor their bank and credit accounts closely."

The investigation is ongoing. There were no suspects as of Monday morning, Wooldridge said.
