Editor, the Advocate:
The headline in the Feb. 28 issue of the Advocate made me furious.
Why was a man with a criminal record that goes back to 2007, including felony drunken driving charges, allowed to be free to kill a young woman?
My 20-year-old son was killed by a drunk driver in Harris County. When I questioned why the drunk driver got probation, I was told the judge was a "very compassionate man."
With our legal system, the compassion is on the wrong side.
