The Republican nomination for Goliad County judge will be determined by a runoff in May, said Goliad County Republican Chairman Kenneth Buelter.
Confirmation from the Secretary of State's election committee that there would be no automatic recount came Thursday morning, Buelter said.
Neither candidate has requested a recount, he said.
"I trust the people that were counting," said Pat Calhoun, one of the candidates who tied in the primary election Tuesday.
He said he is not going to ask for a recount.
The incumbent, David Bowman, also said he would not ask for a recount.
"For anybody who didn't vote the first time, this is your second chance," Calhoun said about the May 27 runoff election.
