Thumbs-up to Melissa Crowe's article about GOP growth in Victoria and Precinct 22 Chairwoman Janice Ohrt leaving the Democratic Party after it embraced abortion and Roe v. Wade. This is a common story in surrounding counties.

Thumbs-up to the Crossroads Community Band's performance Feb. 25. It was a real musical treat - a fun-filled evening with Mr. Ken Peach's (the conductor) ability to involve the audience. Big thank-yous to the musicians for such a wonderful performance.

I am looking forward to their next concert April 8.

Thumbs-up to Homewood Residence for transporting residents to the Crossroads Community Band concert Feb. 25. The band appreciated their attendance, and the residents enjoyed an entertaining performance. Happy birthday to 91-year-old Homewood resident Fannie and 92-year-old Crossroads Community Band member Lynette.

Thumbs-down to all the mud-slinging during election time. Thumbs-down to the new Wal-Mart for not picking up trash in the parking lot - so tacky.
