The Texas Department of Transportation finished cleaning up an oil spill Wednesday that closed several Karnes County roads earlier this week.

Farm-to-Market roads 81 and 1144 have since been reopened, according to an update from Rickey Daily, TxDOT public information officer.

Crews worked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to clean up the spill.

The spill, which happened Monday, affected 3 miles of county roads, forcing motorists to find alternate routes.
