"Oh that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments. Then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea."- Isaiah 48:18
Recently, my former student and forever friend, Tina, sent me the most beautiful photo of the beach on Facebook.
In my literature class more than 20 years ago, I taught my students from the book "Jonathan Livingston Seagull." I taught them they could use words that could draw a picture and evoke an emotion that could be passed onto others.
Today on my Facebook page, Tina sent a picture of our memory of the ocean. I knew Tina wanted this picture just for me.
In the picture, the sky was a very light, sky blue; the ocean was a beautiful ocean blue with small waves that softly kissed the white sands of the beach. The sand was sprinkled with of a multitude of many footprints of fishermen as they had crossed the beach in order to fish.
There were words on the picture saying, "This is my Happy Place" and a large arrow pointing directly down to the beach, where I knew I could meet my God.
Dear Lord, thank you for my students who now pass on to others the beauty of our world.
