Shake named week's best women's golfer

UHV freshman Heather Shake was named the NAIA Women's Golf Player of the Week Wednesday.

Shake won her first individual title last week at the Loyola-New Orleans Invitational in Slidell, La., according to a UHV release. Her scores were 74-73-147.

The Pearland native competed and placed fourth in the women's division of the Claude Jacobs Collegiate Invitational in February. Her scores were 71-75-146.

Her scores helped propel the UHV women's team to its third title of the year.

In two tournaments, Shake has a 73.25 scoring average and currently holds the Jaguars' lowest 18-hole first round score with a 71.
