Best Local Celebrity:

Gary Moses

Celebrity is furthest from the mind of Gary Moses, which is most likely the reason Crossroads residents continuously vote for him.

Gary Moses, who taught at Patti Welder Middle School for 37 years, prefers to say he is blessed and very fortunate to have wonderful friends.

"Each year is an extension of years past and more, which I don't mind because I enjoy what I do," he said.

Moses helps promote events and causes, provides people with information about how to organize events, and emcees or speaks at numerous events weekly.

The former American history, government and economics and Texas history teacher also remains active in the school district.

He gives motivational speeches to students, and he helps raise money for booster clubs and other school organizations.

"I could not pick one special event or organization because they are all special - from the young, to seniors, to service men and women, to veterans, to animals," Moses said.
