Best Place to Dance:

Schroeder Hall

Texas music artists are what owner Sharon Kleinecke credits for keeping the doors open at Schroeder Hall in Goliad.

Bringing in artists people want to dance to is what she said keeps the lights on, which is why the place won best place to dance in the Advocate's Best of the Best contest.

While the hall is known for its solid country music selection, Kleinecke said she also is bringing bands, such as Pop Rocks Ugly, to appeal to the younger crowd.

"When I was in high school it (Schroeder Hall) was the place to be," she said. "I want to bring that back."
