Best hotel: Hilton Garden Inn

Within the first seven months of opening, the Hilton Garden Inn has been able to establish itself as a regular hang out spot.

Advocate readers voted it the best hotel in the Crossroads.

Hilton Garden Inn Director of Sales Alfred Mata said he believes the hotel's inside decor and greenery make patrons feel like they're in a big city.

"A lot of people who come here say they don't feel like they're in Victoria anymore," Mata said. "Every one who works here is proud of the building and proud of being a part of the inn."

With 118 rooms, a staff of about 40 employees and 4,000 square-feet, the hotel also has a restaurant managed by Chef Philip Torres, Mata said.

"We do a lot with the local community here," Mata said. "We have a lot of events."

From New Year's Eve to Valentine's Day, the hotel has managed to stay busy throughout the year, Mata said.
