Best margarita: La Tejanita

A bottle of beer sticking from a glass of margarita has become a popular occurrence at La Tejanita, a Mexican food restaurant in Victoria.

The mixture is so popular that Advocate readers voted it the best margarita in the area.

"They're just good," said Rebecca Rocha, restaurant manager. "My boss makes them and he doesn't tell me what he puts in them ... he won't tell anyone."

Customers who are fond of the margaritas are often able to detect if the manager or another employee made their drinks.

"Believe me, if they're weak our customers let him know," Rocha said.

The manager said she also believes much of the restaurant's popularity lies in their food and patio access.

They have 50 employees, Rocha said.

"Some people like the extra kick in their drinks," Rocha said. "We also all try to provide the best customer service possible."
