Victoria County Master Gardener Association accepting applications for scholarship

Victoria County Master Gardener Association is once again offering a $1,000 scholarship for a qualifying college student who has completed at least 60 hours toward an undergraduate degree or who is pursuing a graduate level degree.

The scholarship is available only to those students pursuing an agriculturally related degree with the intention of pursuing a career in an agriculturally related field.

Applicants must have been graduates of high schools in Victoria, Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Jackson, Lavaca or Refugio. Those who have been home-schooled must have been a resident of the qualifying counties at least one year prior to graduating.

All applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time students and carry at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA for course work completed as of the application date. Graduate applicants must have already been accepted to a graduate program.

Applications may be obtained by going to and clicking on "2014 Current Projects - Scholarship." Follow the instructions as given. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications must be received no later than June 1.
