Thumbs-up to TDECU on Mockingbird Lane for handing out small American flags to the public who lined the procession route for Army Spc. Kerry Danyluk, 27, of Yoakum, who was killed in Afghanistan in the line of duty. What a great act of community support. You rock!

Thumbs-down on anyone who would risk their life and another life just to save an animal. Who would she hurt the most if she would have died in that fire? Animals can be replaced, but a grandma could not be replaced. I know that I will receive a lot of flak from animal lovers who would say they would risk their lives any day to save an animal.
