St. Joseph senior in first place after Day 1 at state

GLEN ROSE - St. Joseph is in second place after the first day at the TAPPS 4A state golf championship at Squaw Valley Golf Club in Glen Rose.

Houston Lutheran South shot a 322, one shot less than St. Joseph, who finished the day with a 323.

Dallas Parish Episcopal is in third place with a 332.

Senior Chloe Velasco is first place overall with a 68.

Lacie Linam is tied for sixth place with a 79. Hannah Karasiuk is in ninth place with an 81.

In a three-way tie for 24th place, Kelley Wood and Taylor Janak and Kamryn Massey from Fort Worth Christian shot a 95.

Other medalists include Christian Curnutte of Midland Christian School with a 73 and Kensington Olson of Dallas Parish Episcopal School with a 74.
