Jaguars headed to Mississippi for opening game

The NAIA National Baseball Championship Opening Round has been announced and UHV is headed to Jackson, Miss. for its appearance in the national tournament.

The Jaguars (23-31) will enter as the fifth seed and will face Sterling (Kan.) in the opening game Monday. Game times have not been announced.

Joining the Jaguars in Jackson will be top-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan, second seed Oklahoma City and host school Belhaven. All games will be played at Smith-Willis Stadium.

The Jackson bracket is one of nine, five-team opening round, double-elimination tournaments starting Monday. The nine winners will advance to the 58th annual Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series at Harris Field in Lewiston, Idaho on May 23-30.
