From your very first breath,

She is always at hand.

Changing diapers and bathing

And teaching you to stand.

She fills your home

With encouragement and love

While supporting your dreams

And giving a helpful shove.

She's there for your firsts,

All the steps, words and laughs.

She remembers them all -

Even your gaffes.

As the years go by

And her baby grows,

She teaches by example

Sharing all that she knows.

Whether you were happy

Or if you were upset or sad,

She was always with you

Finding the good in the bad.

Whenever you did something right

Or were able to progress,

She was right there beside you

Celebrating your success.

From applauding good grades

Or giving a well-deserved swat,

You know in all that she did

She always loved you a lot.

In your moments of strength,

She watched you with pride.

In moments of weakness,

She held you as you cried.

As children grow into adults,

Her love will never change.

Her offspring may move away,

But they're never out of range.

Through calls, texts and emails

Her children stay in touch.

With advice, hope and an open ear,

She always offers a special, loving touch.

After all the years of love

And the support she gave,

It's hard to know just what

Would be the best way you can repay.

How do you repay so much

To a woman who's paid such a price

And has always given her all -

A lifetime of love and sacrifice?

On a day meant just for her,

We hope these meager words express

Our appreciation for mothers.

They deserve nothing less.
