Twins steal the show in baby photo contest

Twins run in their family - as do photogenic babies.
So it is easy to understand why a photo of Blake Harold Allan and Addison Marie Annette Walraven won a baby photo contest.
The twins, children of Cody and Risa Walraven, won the Adorable Baby Amateur Photography Contest hosted by DeTar Healthcare System and the Victoria Advocate.
"More than 1,300 babies were delivered at DeTar Hospital North in 2013, and all of them were adorable. These 10 photos represent the best photos we received in terms of clarity, color, theme and composition," said Judith Barefield, director of marketing for the DeTar Healthcare System. "I'm always surprised to see the quality of photos we get each year."
The Walravens lived in Port Lavaca when the twins were born but have since moved to League City.
Blake and Addison are the fifth set of twins in the combined families - their father's sisters are twins, and his grandmother is a twin. On their mother's side, her great-grandmother was a twin, and she has twin nieces.
The toddlers, who are 13 months old, are also continuing a tradition started by the older Walraven grandchildren. All were photographed with their grandmother Nancy Walraven's Canon PowerShot camera and entered in the DeTar baby photo contest. All have placed, said Risa Walraven.
For this photo, Blake was seated in a chair his father used as a toddler, and Addison used one that belonged to one of her aunts.
The children, who love to get their photos taken, also take after their parents in looks and behavior.
"Blake is very active like his dad, and Addison is laid back like me. They are completely different babies," their mother said.
Addison is the only granddaughter in the Walraven family.
The Walravens win $100 for having the winning photo.
The second-place photo was taken by Jason Collins, of Goliad, of son Conner Reid Collins on Halloween.
Conner was dressed in a pirate costume and placed in the family's front yard surrounded by pumpkins - some homegrown, others store bought.
Young Conner, who was 9 months old in the photo, was fascinated by the noise coming from the Canon camera. The fascination led to smiles, which resulted in the perfect photo to serve as the cover of Halloween cards, said his mother, Lori Collins.
They received $75 for placing second.
Young Greysen Everett Hutcheson's love for tasting everything helped his mother, Brandy Hutcheson, capture a moment in their front yard in Victoria. The photo placed third in the contest.
Greysen, who is also the son of Brian Hutcheson, is very playful. At 5 months old, he likes to play with toys and laugh. He is now rolling over and has started his version of baby talk.
"He is a very happy little baby," his mother said.
The Hutchesons received $50 for placing third.
Seven photos were awarded honorable mentions. They each receive $25.
