Ganado Independent School District Superintendent Jeff Black was placed on administrative leave, said GISD School Attorney Roger D. Hepworth.
He is being investigated on suspicion of child abuse, said Ganado Police Chief Rodney Roberson. Black is suspected of abusing a female teenager.
If the incident occurred, Roberson said, it wasn't recent and didn't occur during school hours or on school property.
GISD Board of Trustees will discuss the appointment of an interim superintendent at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Ganado ISD Board Room, 210 S. 6th Street. The discussion will take place in executive session. Board members were not available Tuesday night for comment.
