VHS grad earns doctorate in education from Sam Houston State University

Dale Lynn Underwood received his doctor of education degree from Sam Houston State University on May 10 in the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum in Hunstville. His dissertation is titled "Leadership Behaviors Exhibited by Superintendents in Urban School Districts that are Successfully Closing the Achievement Gap." Underwood graduated from Victoria High School in 1984. He attended Victoria College and went on to graduate from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science. Underwood earned a master's degree at Texas A&M University in College Station. He is the interim president of Gulf Coast Trade Center in New Waverly. He is the son of Gary M. and Marylyn Underwood, of Victoria.
