Two men and a child were rescued from a sinking boat near Corpus Christi on Sunday.
Corpus Christi Coast Guard received an emergency call about 1 a.m. that a pleasure craft was sinking in Nueces Bay. The occupants of the boat were unsure of their location, according to a news release. An aircrew was launched to find them.
The occupants were hoisted from their boat by the aircrew and taken to Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, according to the news release.
All three were in good condition, according to the news release.
"We are extremely happy to be able to help these boaters in distress," said Petty Officer 3rd Class James Mann, the flight mechanic aboard the helicopter. "We were concerned with the reports of the vessel possibly sinking and more so when we learned one of the boaters was a child. We are thankful they had life jackets on and proper signaling devices."
