A Victoria man was taken to a hospital after crashing a pickup into a home Wednesday evening.
The crash occurred about 6:40 p.m. in the 200 block of Bingham Road, where police found a green Ford F-350 truck inside a residence.
The vehicle, driven by Daniel Janota, 63, of Victoria, was westbound on Bingham Road when it left the road and went into the house, said Sherry Hornstein, Victoria Police Department senior patrol officer. No one inside the home was hurt.
"We were sitting down, and suddenly we heard this loud crash," said homeowner Joseph Burdiosi, 53. "For a moment, we sat still, and the next thing we saw was all this dust inside the house."
Burdiosi, his wife Genny Cruz, 56, and his daughter Caroline Torres, 17, were not near the area of the crash and were not hurt. The truck entered a playroom.
Burdiosi said Janota tried to back out, but Burdiosi asked him not to move.
Janota told officers he was run off the road by another vehicle but could not describe the car, Hornstein said. The officer said alcohol may have been a factor.
Janota was released Wednesday night from Citizens Medical Center, an official said. The crash is under investigation.
