Flores earns RRAC recognition

UHV outfielder Emily Flores was named the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for the week of April 3-9.
Flores was a big key for the Jaguars (28-14) in their four-game conference sweep over Jarvis Christian as she delivered a walk-off single in the series opener and then closed out a run-rule shortened game in Game 2.
On the week, she delivered seven RBIs and scored five runs, while compiling a .611 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage. She was also 4-for-4 in stolen bases and drew three walks.
Her success at the plate also helped the Jaguars clinch a spot in the RRAC tournament with a current 19-5 conference record.
Flores managed to increase her season batting average from .222 to .297 with her success at the plate. She now has 16 RBI and 15 runs scored on the season in 38 games and is currently on her longest hitting streak of the season.
