Jaguars sign 2 more

UHV assistant women's golf coach Christi Cano announced the signing of two more recruits to the 2018 signing class.
The Jaguars signed Leah Lerma, of Mission High School, along with San Antonio Incarnate Word's Viviana Puente.
A four-time regional qualifier, Lerma has been a key player for her team, serving as team captain the past three years and earning all-district honors all four years.
Lerma recently won the District 30-6A individual title posting a 76, 75-152 score to earn her fourth trip to the regional tournament. Last year, she finished second in district and placed 26th at the Region IV-6A Tournament posting an 81-85-166.
She was named the district MVP her sophomore and senior seasons, helped lead her team to district titles the last two years and finished as the district runner-up her first three years before claiming the title this year. She was named third team All-Valley her freshman and junior year and second team All-Valley her sophomore and senior years. She currently has a 79.33 scoring average in her senior season.
Puente has advanced to the TAPPS state tournament the past three years. Last year, she helped her team to a runner-up finish.
She has also helped her team claim a TAPPS tournament title at Mission Del Lago Golf Course this past season and finished the event in third place.
She is also a member of the Southern Texas PGA Junior Golf Program.
