Cook, Lauterbach named scholar athletes

UHV senior Kelly Cook and junior Jaiden Lauterbach were named 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes on Friday.

The UHV duo was among 614 women's soccer student-athletes to receive the honor.

Cook has seen limited action on the field for the Jaguars during her two years with the Jaguars due to injury. A defender from Dripping Springs, Cook has appeared in seven games and has one assist.

Lauterbach, a midfielder from Fort Worth, has competed for three seasons with the Jaguars and has two goals and four assists in 45 games.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
