Palacios is seeking a new athletic director and head football coach.

The Palacios school district started advertising for the position Tuesday after Jeff Doege was reassigned to an administrative position within the district.

The district will accept applications through Jan. 3.

"We have yet to finalize timelines beyond this point but would like to ideally name a new AD by approximately February, if possible," Palacios Superintendent Alexandro Flores said in an email.

Doege was at Palacios for two seasons and had an overall record of 2-15.

He has been a head coach for seven seasons and has an overall record of 16-53.

The Sharks went 2-6 this season and had a 1-5 record in District 14-3A, Division I.

Palacios' 12-7 season-ending win over Industrial, snapped a 20-game district losing streak that began in 2014.

Doege did not respond to messages seeking comment.

The new athletic director and head football coach at Palacios will be the third in the last six years.
