The Port Lavaca Chamber of Commerce has rescheduled the annual Christmas parade and tree lighting due to inclement weather.
Cathy Buehring, with the chamber, said the parade has been moved to 6:30 p.m. Friday. The parade, called the Festival of Lights Christmas Parade, was originally scheduled for Thursday.
The parade route will start on Virginia Street, go down Main Street, and go down to Bayfront Peninsula Park, 501 E. Main St..
The annual Christmas Tree Lighting, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, was also rescheduled for Friday evening following the parade.
The tree lighting will take place at 8 p.m. after the parade at Bayfront Peninsula Park.
Refreshments, such as hot chocolate and s'mores, will be served at the free event. There will also be an ice-skating rink and a life-siz snow globe.
"Santa Claus will just go straight from the parade to the Christmas tree lighting," Buehring said. "People will still have an opportunity to visit with Santa on Friday at the tree lighting."
