SEADRIFT - The Seadrift Chamber of Commerce will host a Santa's Golf Cart Scavenger race at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First National Bank parking lot where teams of four can register for $5 per person and must have a licensed driver.

The students at Seadrift School will perform Christmas songs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the school gym.

PORT O' CONNOR - The First National Bank is hosting a sweet treat contest where anyone can bring their tasty original desserts by 4 p.m. Thursday with a copy of the recipe and enough samples for people to vote before 3 p.m. Friday in the lobby.

The public is invited to see the Port O' Connor Elementary students put on a Christmas play of Dr. Seuss' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the school gym.


CUERO - Christmas in the Park Drive Through is open nightly from 6 to 10 p.m. at Cuero City Park; enter from the street adjacent to H-E-B.

Stores located on Main and Esplanade streets will be open until 8 p.m. every Thursday in December.

YORKTOWN - Yorktown school board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Junior High School Library, 418 W. 4th St.

Bible study for children and adults will be available from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 541 N. West St.; children's study begins at 5 p.m. and adults study begins at 7 p.m.


GOLIAD - Country Fever Band will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at Schroeder Hall, 12516 Farm-to-Market Road 622; $8 cover charge.

The Goliad Economic Development Committee will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Goliad Council Chambers in city hall, 152 W. End St.

BERCLAIR- Tours of the Berclair Mansion, 14 Moore St., start at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, admission is $10 per person.


EDNA- The Jackson County Sheriff's Office, R Bank and Edna Fire Department are hosting a toy drive and will collect new unwrapped toys for children ages 1 to 10 years old until Dec. 21; toys may be dropped off at the sheriff's office, police department or R Bank.

The Lonestar Youth Rodeo Association will have its first rodeo at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Brackenridge Main Event Center, 284 Brackenridge Parkway; free admission for spectators.

GANADO- Christmas on the Square will be from noon to 9 p.m. Dec. 21 in downtown Ganado, 111 S. Third St; there will be games, activities and a holiday market.


YOAKUM- The Yoakum Economic Development Corporation Board will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the City Hall conference room, 808 U.S. 77A S.

The Carl & Mary Welhausen Library will have its first Christmas Posada from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the library, 810 Front St.; there will be stories, snowflake craft, face painting, games, a matachines dance routine, live music, door prizes, candy bags, pinata for children, a hot sauce contest, pozole, pan dulce and Mexican hot chocolate. The event is free to the public.


REFUGIO - All ages are welcome to the ever annual Refugio Toy Drive hosted by Tejano 361 at 8 p.m. Saturday at Padilla Hall where admission will be new unwrapped toys with $5 minimum value.

The students of Refugio Elementary School will perform Christmas carols at 6 p.m. Monday in the school cafeteria.

WOODSBORO - The theater students of Woodsboro High School will perform a one-act play of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Woodsboro Town Square. The student council and National Honor Society will provide refreshments for guests.
