PORT O'CONNOR - The Port O' Connor Chamber of Commerce will host a Christmas light display contest at 6 p.m. Thursday. Residents and business owners can leave their name and address with Beverly Clifton at 361-220-1538 and their displays will be judged on originality, color, spirit, theme, religious, quantity and overall.


CUERO - Christmas in the Park Drive Through is open nightly from 6 to 10 p.m. at Cuero City Park; enter from the street adjacent to H-E-B.

YORKTOWN - Bible study for children and adults will be available from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 541 N. West St.; children's study begins at 5 p.m. and adult study begins at 7 p.m.


GOLIAD - Legal Limit Band will perform from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday at Schroeder Dance Hall, 12516 Farm-to-Market Road 622; cover charge is $8. Jarrod Birmingham will perform from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday at Schroeder Hall, doors open at 8 p.m.


REFUGIO - New Life Ministries, South Texas BBQ Teams, Rio Life Community Church, Joy Ministries and Refugio Mayor Wanda Dukes have teamed up to bring Christmas Under the Stars to benefit areas affected by Hurricane Harvey at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Refugio Community Center.

The free community event will have door prizes, toys for children, a visit from Santa Claus, food and more.
