My love is still the same

"When they (the wise men) saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh."
- Matthew 2: 10-11
With all of the hustle and bustle of Christmas, I see people rushing around and driving really crazy to purchase all the presents and wrap them so their gifts will be ready to give on Christmas Day or, as some do, on Christmas Eve.
The wise men were overwhelmingly joyful to see baby Jesus, and they fell down and worshipped Him. Then, they presented Him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Our gifts to our family and friends are different than those given by the wise men, but they are given with much love.
My son Brad came to visit me and brought many gifts and even presented a seafood feast to celebrate Christmas with me. We had shrimp scampi, fried shrimp, seafood gumbo, mashed potatoes, rolls and enough to eat for three days.
We talked of many fun fishing trips. Brad even made me a necklace out of a silver fishing spoon (or lure) and put it around my neck. He found the silver fishing spoon at Rockport after Hurricane Harvey had hit.
My Brad said I should wear the necklace when I fish to bring me good luck.
We decided that it would be quite interesting to know the whole story of that silver fishing spoon, but that lure does not talk.
I remember when my baby Brad was born and the nurses brought him to me wrapped in swaddling blankets and I worshipped him. In fact, the nurses forgot to pick up Brad from me to put him back into the nursery that night, and so we got to spend our first night together.
My son Brad is more than 6 feet tall now, and he is so handsome and strong. My baby boy is all grown up, but I love him exactly the same as I did the night he was born.
Dear Lord, Thank You for coming to us on Christmas Day. You came with enduring love to bring each of us eternal life. Thank you also for my handsome sons, Buck and Brad, whom I love dearly, just as your mother Mary loved you.
