East, West boys and girls place at Invitational

RIO GRANDE CITY - Victoria West's Eileen Webb improved to 17-0 on the season after placing first at the Rio Grande City Snakebite Invitational on Thursday.

Emma Jones (13-5) placed fourth for the Warriors.

As a team, the West girls placed seventh out of 22 teams.

The Victoria East girls finished eighth as a team.

Teagan Wertman (14-4) placed second, while Hayley Montez (10-9) placed fourth for the Lady Titans.

For the boys, West placed third out of 25 teams.

Javier Chapa earned his 13th win of the season after placing first for the Warriors.

Dante Hunter also placed first and improved to 11-6.

Ethan Adcock and Matthew Monroy both placed fourth for the Warriors.

The East boys placed 19th out of 25 teams.

Jeremy Gonzalez placed fourth and improved to 3-2 on the season.

The East, West girls and boys travel to Houston for the Cy-Fair Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The first match begins at 9 a.m.
