I'm excited to see that Riverside Golf Course is reopening soon. Can you please provide some details about the reopening?

Yes. The city's Parks and Recreation Department is also just as excited as golfers to get back into the swing of things when Riverside Golf Course re-opens to the public at 6:30 a.m. - with the first tee time at 7 a.m. - on Saturday. Come enjoy an upgraded course featuring greens with winter overseed; full, generous fairways; a new fleet of lithium golf carts; and a refurbished clubhouse to enjoy after finishing a nice round of golf.

Riverside Golf Course has undergone much transformation since July 1 and is now entering the final stretch to reopening one of the City's best recreational opportunities. Hurricane Harvey and the Guadalupe River flooding disrupted the timeline of the Riverside Golf Course reopening, like many others throughout South Texas.

The initial removal of limbs and debris was performed by the current staff to clear greens, fairways and tees in an effort to protect turf conditions where possible.

In addition to the initial clearing, the team contracted to complete the process of debris removal spent just over a month on the course.

The course is completely renovated, and the greens are in better condition than ever . and will be well-hydrated all year thanks to a new state-of-the-art irrigation system. In addition, new on-course beverage carts will provide more convenience to golfers, and an online tee time registration system, now available by visiting playriversidegc.com, makes it fast and easy to book tee times for you and your friends to play a round or two of golf.

Annual passes to play Riverside Golf Course are now available to purchase, but only a limited number of passes are available, so be sure to get yours soon.
