Generals add 3 to roster

The Victoria Generals announced the addition of Stevie Thompson, Seth Campbell and Aaron Cardona, all of Stephen F. Austin, on Wednesday.
Thompson, a junior transfer from Cowley College in Wichita, Kansas, had an outstanding sophomore season, helping Cowley College to a 44-18 record and an automatic berth in the NJCAA Division I World Series. Thompson, an outfielder, batted .330 with an on-base percentage of .486, scoring 69 runs, 33 RBIs, 17 extra base hits and 15 stolen bases.
Campbell is a sophomore left-handed pitcher. He had a solid freshman season as a reliever, compiling a record of 3-0 with a team-best 3.64 ERA in 25 innings. Campbell allowed 17 hits, 11 runs with 18 strikeouts, while holding his opponents to a team-low .189 batting average against.
Cardona, a freshman left-handed pitcher from Kingsville, was a standout at Bishop High School where he was a starter his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. As a sophomore, Cardona was a District 31-3A Newcomer of the Year. He was named to the UIL state championship all-tournament team. Cardona was chosen as the District 31-3A MVP his senior season, and was named first team all-south Texas as a pitcher.
The Generals will begin the Texas Collegiate League season May 26 when they travel to Texarkana.
