Teresa Keating, Dow Chemical Seadrift Operations site manager, announces the 2016 Pro Bowl Team, a group of MVPs from work groups around the site.

Dow Seadrift Operations went the entire year of 2016 without any injuries.

Since the site opened in 1954, workers there have not reached a safety milestone like this one.

To commemorate their milestone, site officials celebrated the "Perfect Season" on Feb. 2 at the Dow Clubhouse.

The term refers to the Miami Dolphins' 1972 football season, when they went undefeated and won the Super Bowl.

The celebration was held to thank all employees at the site for their commitment to safety.

"Everyone came together to pull off this remarkable achievement," site leader Teresa Keating said in the news release. "At Seadrift Operations, we are one team and one family. This celebration is for everyone who not only left it all on the field but brought it back in 2017 to win it again."

To reach this achievement, employees embraced the can-do attitude that has always existed at Seadrift Operations, Keating said. This gave employees a renewed sense of pride and ownership in the work they do every day. They are not afraid to intervene when they see a potentially dangerous unsafe situation.

Seadrift Operations hosted a Pro Bowl tailgating event. Trucks were used to serve pizza, bleachers were bought in and a DJ kept the environment lively.

The event featured a football toss challenge where each department could participate by nominating two employees to compete. Several Dow business presidents and senior leaders visited to congratulate the employees on their achievements.

MVPs were recognized from each work group and made up the 2016 "pro bowl" team.
