"...Jesus said unto Simon, 'Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.' And Simon answering said unto him, 'Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.' And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes..."

- Luke 5: 4-6

When God tells us we should go deep, then we ought to go deep. During cold weather, the fish go into the deep waters.

When I was younger and healthier, I would fish in any kind of weather. Once, we built a beach wood fire, but that just didn't do the job. I fished so long at Coloma Creek that day in the cold that my woolly hat froze to my head. And it wasn't until on the way home in the warm car that it defrosted enough that I could safely take it off without pain. We did catch our limit of fish that day in the deep hole at Coloma Creek.

Now that I am older, I still know to fish in deep waters in cold weather but right now I am just sitting in my warm, brick home with my central heat running.

I do have my warm woolies clean just in case I go crazy and take off to the beach. But I'd rather take off and go to Red Lobster, and I know at my age that would be much smarter.

Dear Lord, Help us to follow Your words in all stages of our lives. Help us to go deep and follow Your will and Your ways throughout our lives.
