Victoria Generals coach Michael Oros had three goals for the Texas Collegiate League season.

The Generals accomplished the first goal by finishing second in the first half of the season and securing a home playoff game.

"Obviously, the two seed was our goal going in," Oros said. "We wanted to have a home playoff game. Our second goal is to have a good second half. Our third goal is to win the whole thing. We're going to work on the next two goals."

The Generals will start work on their next two goals Friday after the league's all-star break.

Eleven members of the Generals have been selected for the All-Star Game, which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Nutrabolt Stadium in Bryan.

Oros will coach one all-star team that will include the Generals players, and Brazos Valley coach Trey Porras will coach the other that will include the Bombers players.

Oros and Porras drafted players from the Acadiana Cane Cutters, Texas Marshals and Texarkana Twins to fill out their teams.

Generals playing in the All-Star Game include catcher Marshall Skinner, first baseman Glen McClain, third baseman Dakota Phillips, shortstop Jordan Wiley, outfielder Donnie Perez, designated hitter Hunter Hearn, starting pitchers David Worrell, Jordan Hackett and Pedro Garcia and relievers Garrett Alexander and Zac Leigh, a Victoria East graduate.

In addition, Skinner and Perez have been selected to participate in the home run derby scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday.

"There are multiple reasons for wanting to participate in this game," Oros said. "First of all, it's fun and a great experience and something the players will always remember. In addition, there will be a lot of pro scouts at this game, and it's a chance for the players to show off their skills."

The Generals will return to Riverside Stadium for a two-game series against the Texas Marshals beginning Friday.
