Generals down Marshals

Gabriel Sequeira pitched 61/3 shutout innings with nine strikeouts as the Victoria Generals defeated the Texas Marshals 6-1 in a Texas Collegiate League game Friday night at Riverside Stadium.
Sequeira, a left-handed pitcher, retired the first eight Marshals and had a strikeout in each inning except the second.
Relief pitchers Zac Leigh and Weston Seay combined for four strikeouts in 22/3 innings of work for the Generals.
The Generals' (18-15) six runs came off of 10 hits.
Hunter Hearn hit a fielder's choice in the bottom of the first as the Generals took a 1-0 lead on the Marshals (11-20).
Darien Sims went 2-for-4, scoring two runs with a stolen base for the Generals.
The Generals added three runs in the fourth.
With runners on second and third, Glen McClain hit a two-run double followed by an RBI double by Kyle Moos.
McClain went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Generals. Jordan Wiley went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases for the Generals.
The Generals added a run in the sixth after a throwing error and sealed the win with a run in the eighth after a fielder's choice.
The Marshals' lone run came in the seventh.
Jaylon Keys went 3-for-5 for the Marshals.
The Generals will finish the two-game series against the Marshals at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
