Writers of the Texas Constitution knew what they were doing

The embarrassing scuffle that recently occurred on the floor of the legislature in Austin is further proof that those who wrote the Texas Constitution knew what they were doing when they made the legislature meet only every other year. I have long contended that the best thing we can do for government - federal, state and local -- is to keep the politicians as far away from it as possible.
