Five Shiner softball players were named to the Class 2A all-state tournament team Sunday.

First baseman Claire Patek, second baseman Lauren Schuette, shortstop Kailey Williams and outfielders Mackinly Pilat and Kassidy Bishop represented the Lady Comanches.

Bells, which defeated Shiner in the Class 2A state final, filled out the rest of the ballot.

Beeville's Jessalyn Burkett was named to the all-state tournament team in Class 4A. Burkett and the Lady Trojans advanced to the state tournament for the first time since 1997 before falling to Krum in the state semifinal.
