Generals split with Bombers

The Victoria Generals defeated the Brazos Valley Bombers 13-3 to salvage a split in the Texas Collegiate League series at Riverside Stadium on Sunday night.
The Generals blew the game open after exploding for six runs in the sixth inning to take a 12-3 lead.
Donaldo Perez went 3-for-5 with seven RBIs for the Generals, who finished with 17 hits. Landon Gray went 4-for-5 with three runs scored, and Jack Kenley had two hits and three RBIs. Perez and Gray both homered.
Pedro Garcia struck out six, allowing five hits and three runs and walking two in five innings of work for the Generals, who improved to 11-9.
The Bombers dropped to 14-6.
The Generals travel to Youngsville, La., to face the Acadiana Cane Cutters for a two-game series beginning Monday before returning to Riverside Stadium on Wednesday for a two-game series against the Texarkana Twins.
