Two men were taken into custody after a routine traffic stop Thursday by the Seadrift Police Department, said Chief Leonard Bermea.
Bermea said the two Seadrift residents were part of separate incidents about 8 p.m. in the 100 block of East Bay Avenue.
One man was arrested after he was stopped because of a minor traffic infraction. A Seadrift K-9 unit was at the scene and found he was in possession of a small amount of marijuana, Bermea said.
At the scene, officers noticed another man "moving around in the background" as they were conducting the investigation, Bermea said.
The second man found at the scene was identified as an undocumented immigrant, and Bermea said officers contacted the Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The identities of the men were not available Thursday night.
Bermea said charges for both men are pending.
