HOBBS, N.M. - Sixteen hits weren't enough in UHV's 16-15 Red River Athletic Conference loss to Southwest New Mexico in the night cap of Friday's doubleheader.

The Jaguars (6-11, 3-5) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning before the Mustangs (16-12, 6-2) answered with six runs in the bottom of the inning to begin the slugfest.

Nathaniel Pena allowed nine runs (six earned) on 13 hits for the Jaguars. Allen Westmoreland and Chase Almendarez both went deep for UHV, who dropped their third straight game.
