Poem about spouse being best friend

Editor, the Advocate:
When things seem boring after years with your spouse,
You're driving the same car and in the same ol' house.
You best think back to the traits that you found
In this person that you fell for over others in town.
If this person loves you as you will know this by now,
Finding true love is rare and so little time to allow
To develop a relation when caring that much,
As this person is there for you and still enjoys your touch.
The moral of this story is don't throw it away
And trade it for a lover who probably won't stay.
Finding a Prince Charming or a Princess in your life
Should be the ones called husband and wife.
Keep them special and of someone that you are proud,
Even in tough times and under a cloud.
A union forever is not as easy as it seems;
It takes work from both to fulfill each of your dreams.
To feel secure in your life with this person you chose,
Keep in mind there are thorns that come with a rose.
Such is life with its ups and its downs,
So make decisions together to lessen the frowns.
This person must be your very best friend,
And it must be mutual or it will be lost in the wind.
