Jaguars sweep Texas College

TYLER - UHV totaled 35 runs on 21 hits to complete a two-game sweep of Texas College in a Red River Athletic Conference doubleheader Friday.

RRAC Player of the Week Aubri Hockenbury went 3-for-3 with a pair of three-run home runs to power the Jaguars (21-13, 13-5) to a 21-2 win in Game 1. Alyssa Dial connected on a grand slam in the first inning to lead UHV to a 14-0 win in Game 2. Gabby Davila finished 5-for-5 with five RBIs in the first game, while starting pitcher Michelle Revels earned the win.

In the nightcap, Torey Dumont tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Dumont helped herself by connecting on a two-run home run in the third inning.

The Steers (0-8, 0-8) managed four hits on the day and remained winless on the season.

Both teams will conclude the series Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
