Ben Zeller has filed paperwork to seek another term as Victoria County judge, which means his name will appear on the March 2018 Republican primary ballot, according to a news release.
"I'm ready to run hard for re-election if there's a contested race," said Zeller. "We have a very strong record to run on, and I enjoy campaigning and meeting people."
Sunday, Zeller is hosting a barbecue at the American Legion Hall, where there will be live music and activities. Barbecue plates will be sold for $9 each, which will help support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Victoria County, according to the news release.
"I want to thank people in our community for all their support, and I invite everyone to come enjoy some barbecue with us," said Zeller.
Zeller announced his plans to seek re-election during the summer. So far, no one has officially announced plans to challenge Zeller's seat.
"I remain focused on getting real results on issues that matter to our community, and I will keep working to improve Victoria County," Zeller said.
