Cuero cruises to bi-district win (w/video)

CUERO – Keiran Grant rushed for 225 yards and six touchdowns and Cuero rolled to a 67-10 Class 4A, Division II bi-district win over Corpus Christi West Oso on Friday night at Gobbler Stadium.

Grant scored on runs of 3, 10, 1, 24, 9 and 9 yards, and also caught a two-point conversion pass from Drew Riemenschneider.

The Gobblers improved to 10-0 and advanced to the area round against Crystal City, a 20-14 winner over Llano.

The area game is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at San Antonio’s Alamo Stadium.

The Gobblers also scored on a pair of 5-yard runs by Chance Albrecht, a 36-yard touchdown pass from Riemenschneider to Jordan Whittington, a two-point run by Riemenschneider, and they picked up a safety when they blocked a punt that was recovered by West Oso in the end zone.

The Bears (6-5) scored on a 34-yard field goal by Jose Naranjo, and a 98-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Roberson to Craig Clemons with 54 seconds remaining in the game.
